On Saturday, 19th October, three of us (M, J and P) undertook an expedition to the RSPB Wildlife Reserve and Discovery Park at Saltholme (near Seaton Carew).
We spent a few hours walking around the grounds and visiting the various hides that were strategically located around the wetland areas. Armed with our binoculars, we were able to observe a wide variety of bird species. We had a very pleasant lunch in the restaurant that was located on the upper floor of the main visitors-centre building. Further details of the Saltholme reserve can be found here.
